The Gulf Coast of Texas.
Truly a wild country.
From the days when the Karankawa Indians practiced cannibalism on Galveston Island to the days when the Boogie Kings practiced Rythm and Blues in the Bamboo Hut on Stuart Beach.
Born in Houston-a young city that grew up fast, not unlike the many children who called it home.
South Texas, where George Jones sang from a window above while Roky Erickson howled you're gonna miss me and Joe Tex demanded show me a man that's got a good woman.
Raised in LaPorte-not much could grow in the hard dirt they called "black gumbo" (I know there is buried treasure some where on Sylvan Beach left by the French pirate Jean Le Fitte).
Long hot days and warm balmy nights-find a pool of water and jump in, but watch for snakes, water mocassins or maybe rattlers.
The Gulf Coast Sound-like a pot of Louisiana gumbo, put in some of this, a little of that and mix it all together 'til it tastes just right.
LaPorte, Texas to London, England and all the people and places in between
